LITERARY | Uninvited Guest

Writer's picture: The CommunicatorThe Communicator

And the mansion is now ready for the party

The visitors are all waiting in the lobby

The place is so bright that it outshines the city lights

No doubt, it will be the most memorable night

The dresses are long, the suits are tight

The laughter is loud, the faces are bright

The music embraces the ears of the guest

Taking in the spirit of the most awaited quest

But there is banging and shouting

On the outside, the stones are flying

"Worry not," said the host

"For the guard will make the door closed"

"But they are wild and dangerous," the lady in red exclaimed

No one will take the blame,

Because they are complacent that the outside terror is nothing

But they don't know a storm is coming

The guards were priced

Then the gate was sliced

Slowly lurching in the dark

The bandits' goal was marked

In the midst of an exquisite gathering

The outlaws are already approaching

First, the guard house

Taking guns and bombs— planning to scare the crowds

Then they head to the backdoor

Quietly walking, not screeching the floor

But a boy was there with a horrified stare

So they silenced him until his last air

They took no break

Heading to the most important room

Getting everything they can take

Then they saw the crown, shining, waiting to be taken by men in black costume

The goal was done

It's now time to have fun

They dress to the nines

Then they head to the stage, crossing all the lines

Everyone was caught by surprise

Not knowing what might be happening

Thinking about who might be these men in disguise

Then they saw the crown on the man's head— glowing

And it begins the ending of freedom

Still wanting to have fun

Still fighting to take back the crown

Took an oath to not leave this town

Even though the host and the guards are cowards

Even though the bandits have the advantage of the cards

The mansion is always for the people

And the crown will be backed by the people
